Richmond Hill Magazine Celebrates its First Anniversary

January 27, 2008

Had to post about the great time I had at the First Anniversary Party of The Richmond Hill Magazine. We all got together at Jack’s Hydeway and it was a lot of fun.

Richmond Hill Magazine

Here is Julie Hales, Publisher, with Jack Hyde, featured in the upcoming magazine, Lynette Tuck, Account Representative, and Todd Wood, Editor.

Richmond Hill Women’s Business Alliance

Many of the ladies from the Richmond Hill Women’s Business Alliance were there too.

The crew at the Richmond Hill Magazine has done a wonderful job showcasing local businesses, people, events and places.

The announcement was made that the Magazine would be shifting from its quarterly time line to a bimonthly publication.

With all that coverage, we can’t wait to see who shows up at next year’s party!

Toastmasters is coming to Richmond Hill

January 3, 2008

A while back I mentioned that a group was toying with the idea of starting a local Toastmasters group here in Richmond Hill. Well, we are toying no more.

The first meeting will be held Monday, January 14, 8:30am at Magnolia Manor. All are invited to attend to see what it is all about. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to give me a call if you have any questions.

Special thanks goes out to Rich Delong and the staff at Magnolia Manor for once again opening their home to community events and being incredibly hospitable.

Coastal Georgia Greenway

January 2, 2008

A group has been in the works for some time now to create a 450 mile trail system that connects Florida to South Carolina through 6 coastal Georgia Counties. Guess what Bryan County is – that’s right! A coastal county. The other counties are Chatham, Camden, Glynn, Liberty and McIntosh. The venture includes participation from both public and private organizations.

Looking at the minutes from the June 2007 meeting, it seems as though the project is also including some interior works addressing routes to schools. If you live in a neighborhood where the kids must walk/ride to school, this is probably very important to you.

There is a joint meeting for the Chatham and Bryan County Committees being held Monday, January 28, from 1 to 3 PM at Bamboo Farms and Coastal Gardens.
